Kelly Clarkson practised her interviewing skills on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' on Thursday (20.09.18).
The 36-year-old singer recently announced she's launching her own talk show and the 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' hitmaker has wasted no time preparing for her new role, grilling the host on the worst guest he's ever had on his programme.
Seth replied: "That's a great question, and I'll tell you backstage.
"But I can tell you from someone who hosts a show like this, I am smart enough not to say that name on-air. You don't want to poison the well."
The 'Stronger' hitmaker then adopted a more serious tone and asked Seth whether he'd ever run for political office and if he thinks celebrities should.
The TV star responded: "My honest answer about this is ... I love Americans, I really do. I think we're a terrible group of people to govern.
"I think we're impossible. It's a giant junior high where we're dead split on the middle as far as what we agree on it. Yeah, it just seems like a real pain in the ass."
Earlier this week, Kelly confirmed reports she's already shot a pilot for her own daytime programme and plans to use her upcoming tour to prepare for her new role.
Kelly told Jimmy Fallon: "We're doing a live segment during my show, so every night on tour we're going live online ... I've got a lot of jobs, Jimmy!"
Kelly's programme will air before 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', and she has promised it will be "a little different" to anything that's been shown on TV before.
She said: "We sing every day on the show and do this fan request thing. It's fun. In the pilot, I got people to sing with me and do little skits. It's very musical; it would be weird if it wasn't!"
