The ‘Piece by Piece’ hitmaker recently appeared on air sat down, and revealed she had to stay seated because she managed to “do something” to her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) - which is one of the key ligaments that help stabilise the knee joint, - just before the show began.

Speaking on her show, she said: “So, you’re probably wondering why I’m sitting in a chair, because usually I start standing. Well, this is our first holiday show, woo! I was really excited about it, and we were running late.

“I don’t like to be late, so I was running in my heel, which was a bad decision because apparently, I turned a corner and possibly did something to my ACL. So fun! So, 2020, just the gift that keeps on giving. It’s a really good year.”

But Kelly, 38, didn’t let her injury stop her from hosting her show, as she carried on her hosting duties while sitting with her leg elevated.

The singer also jokingly recalled an award she previously won in school called “Crisis of the Day Kelly Award,” because she was famous in her class for constantly managing to injure herself.

The knee injury isn’t the first time Kelly has appeared on her daytime talk show with an injury either, as she in September, she experienced an eye infection that required her to wear an eye patch for a few days.

She said at the time: “Something got in there, maybe cut it, did something. It got infected. It looked like ‘Hitch’, you know that movie? When it first happened, it was so puffy and I was like, ‘What am I supposed to do?’ I had to shoot ‘The Voice’, a full day for, I think it was Battle Realities, in a patch and I was wearing all black because it was already the outfit that was chosen and I looked like an assassin.”
