Keira Knightley has got "dreadlocks" since becoming a mother.
The 31-year-old actress has found her hair has got considerably thicker since she had daughter Edie - her first child with husband James Righton - 15 months ago and though she now has to spend more time taming her tresses, she admits her beauty regime has slipped to the bare minimum.
In an interview with the new issue of InStyle magazine, she said: "I have naturally crazy, curly hair and since I've had the baby it's become 10 times thicker. So now I've been finding quite a lot of dreadlocks.
"My skin has also become significantly drier with age, so I moisturise and try to drink as much water as possible. Aside from that, my teeth are always brushed and I use lip balm. My new approach is, 'Do what you can remember and don't worry about it too much.'"
The 'Begin Again' star has changed her look many times to accommodate her movie roles but has now resorted to wearing wigs in order to give her hair a break from dye.
She said: "I have dyed my hair virtually every colour imaginable for different films. It got so bad that my hair literally began to fall out of my head.
"So for the past five years I've used wigs, which is the greatest thing that's ever happened to my hair."
Once she finishes filming, Keira always has a manicure so she can "reclaim" her own identity away from her characters.
She said: "My nails are usually bare when I'm filming, so as soon as I finish I paint them with a bold Chanel colour. It makes me feel like I'm reclaiming my body."
