Ke$ha's friends are confident she is strong enough to overcome her issues.
The 'Timber' hitmaker, who entered a treatment facility last Friday (03.01.14) to reportedly receive help for an eating disorder and heavy drinking, initially dismissed concerns about her weight and her pals are relieved she finally admitted she has a problem.
One friend close to the 26-year-old star told People magazine: "It was kind of out of the blue. She's just as sensitive about her weight as anyone is, but not constantly talking about it.
"She was like, 'I'm dancing constantly on tour and lost a little weight.' "
Another insider blamed the pressures of the music industry for Ke$ha's inner turmoil.
The source said: "Being in this industry hasn't helped her issues, it's made them worse. But it's also finally made her deal with them properly."
The 'Tik Tok' hitmaker is set stay at the Timberline Knolls rehab center near Chicago, Illinois, for a total of 30 days and her friends believe she will then be strong enough to enter the limelight again.
A pal said: "She thinks this is important to get a handle on, and it's great she's taking the initiative before it becomes something more serious."
A different friend added: "She's a strong woman. She'll put in the work and get over this."
