Katy Perry sent Christmas gifts to a burns victim after learning she was one of her fans.
The 31-year-old singer was touched by the plight of eight-year-old Safyre Terry - whose father and siblings passed away following an arson attack that also left her severely burned and lost a hand and foot in May 2013 -- and sent her a hand-written card and package of goodies.
In the card, the 'Roar' hitmaker wrote: "Safyre, I heard about your Christmas wish and and am so honoured that you saved the top of the tree for me!
"I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year. I'll be thinking of you on Christmas Day. Special girl."
Among the gifts sent by Katy was a hoodie with ears, a backpack, a DVD of her 'Prismatic' world tour and another of her 'Part of Me' film, as well as an iPhone case and a black cat purse.
Katy sent the card after a family friend shared on social media Safyre's wish to receive a tree full of Christmas cards.
After the post went viral, the little girl received over 10,000 packages and 500,000 cards from well-wishers including Beyonce and US President Barack Obama.
Photographer Evan Lauber has shared a picture of Safyre playing 'Roar' on the keyboard with the late Michael Jackson's friend Angel Cascio.
Evan told Us Weekly magazine: "Safyre went back and forth between learning 'Roar,' and opening gifts -- she really is very interested in learning her favourite song from her favourite artist!"
