Katy Perry made her first major public appearance since giving birth to daughter Daisy Bloom at the 2020 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night (21.10.20).
The 'Daisies' hitmaker took the evening off from mom duties to be in Nashville for the annual ceremony honouring the biggest names in country music and introduced her 'American Idol' co-judge Luke Bryan's performance.
She quipped: "When CMT asked me about introducing my favourite 'American Idol' co-star, I said, 'Sure, I'll do anything for Lionel Richie.'
"And then they had to clear up some confusion. But hey, hey, hey, I know you guys are really excited to see the one and only my friend, performing his smash hit, 'What She Wants Tonight' from Sycamore Farms, Luke Bryan."
Katy returned to work on 'American Idol' earlier this month.
The 'Dark Horse' hitmaker - who welcomed baby Daisy into the world with fiance Orlando Bloom in August - opted for a cow-inspired outfit to mark her return to the talent show.
She wrote on Instagram alongside a series of snaps of her outfit: "MUTHA MILKS is back to werk @americanidol and it’s ... udderly ... ridiculously MOO-ving already! ... Not pictured: my pumping breaks ... (shout out to @csiriano for the incredible custom costume) (sic)"
Meanwhile, Katy revealed Orlando is “doing a great job” of taking care of Daisy when she’s at work.
The 35-year-old singer said of her hectic schedule: "It's hard a little bit these first couple of days away and not being able to be there. But Daddy's doing a great job.
"Daddy has stepped in. I've seen him with the bottle, I've seen all the pictures. It's all good.”
The ‘Never Worn White’ singer also admitted going back to work felt “amazing” and is a wonderful "opportunity", and said her life feels “whole” now that she’s a mother.
She added: "I feel so grateful for this opportunity and for this job, and to be able to continue to inspire other people to go after their dreams. I mean, my life just feels very full and whole."
