The 36-year-old singer welcomed her first child, a daughter named Daisy Dove, with her fiancée Orlando Bloom in August, and has said there’s nothing she loves more than being a mother.

She explained: "She'll always be the No. 1 most important thing ever, naturally. But I love being a working mom. I don't think there's anything negative about it. It's like, 'Wow, you can do that and that?' All right! That's a woman, you know?"

Katy headed back to work just six weeks after giving birth when she shot a music video for her latest hit, ‘Not the End of the World’, and teamed up with actress Zooey Deschanel – whom Katy was often mistaken for at the start of her career – to help her with the shoot.

Speaking about hiring Zooey, Katy told People magazine: "I was so happy being a mother, but I was like 'Oh, there's this idea in the back of my head’. I knew that time marches on and now was the time so I reached out to her personally, and it was amazing. She showed up for me while I was on maternity leave, basically.

"As a pop star, you don't really have a 9 to 5, so it's all up to me to create a schedule and balance, and she was totally down and thought it was fun. I truly believe that mothers are the most powerful beings on the planet, and when women get together and support each other, it's incredible."

Meanwhile, Katy recently opened up about being mistaken for the ‘New Girl’ actress, as she said she took advantage of having a more famous doppelganger when she first moved to Los Angeles.

She said: "When I moved to LA maybe 18 years ago ... I was pretty much a nobody, and you were like just getting so huge at that time, it was like Zooey Deschanel ran the world.

"In that moment, I was so complimented to look like you.

"But I have to admit something to you. When I first got to LA, I went to the club. A lot. And I wanted to get into the club, but I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club."
