The 45-year-old former glamour model has been dating the 'Married At First Sight UK' star for a few months but people don't always realise she is in a relationship with the Fully Blessed owner because of their 14-year age gap.
Making their red carpet debut at The Gossies in Ireland over the weekend, the couple were asked about the public reaction to their romance and JJ told Goss.ie: "Better than I expected".
Katie added: "They've actually been alright. Mind you, everyone has said today that he looked like my nephew".
JJ then said: "Nephew is quite funny though isn't it?"
The couple refused to share details about how they first got together but Katie - who has Harvey, 21, Junior, 18, Princess, 16, Jett, 10, and nine-year-old Bunny from previous relationships - insisted they had known one another for some time before they went public with their romance.
She said: "Wouldn't you like to know? But put it this way, It's not just quick, we got to know each other behind the cameras before anyone speculates anything."
The couple only confirmed their romance late last month.
Katie - whose on/off romance with Carl Woods ended in 2023 - shared a loved-up selfie on Instagram and wrote: "They say things happen for a reason, the unexpected happened. Fate. Ticks every box. @johnjoeslater you have proved to me you are a real gentleman and completely except me for me (sic)"
JJ then took to the comments section to offer a response.
He simply wrote: "Fate… thank you so much for being you (sic)"
Meanwhile, a source has claimed that Katie's new romance is "already getting serious".
The TV star and JJ recently jetted off on a romantic ski trip to Bulgaria, and their romance is said to be moving at speed.
The source told MailOnline: "Katie's already introduced JJ to her youngest kids. It's so important to her that he gets along with them as they're a huge part of her life.
"They've been talking for a while but it seems like it's already getting serious."
