Katie Price has begged cruel online trolls to stop targeting her son Harvey.
The former glamour model has revealed that she is desperate to shield her 18-year-old son – who has septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness and growth hormone deficiency, Prader-Willi syndrome, ADHD and autism – from online bullying and warned that it needs to stop.
Katie said: "It has to stop. It doesn't just happen with Harvey, it happens with everyone. Whether you're an MP, a doctor, if you're gay, straight, your race, anything – people are just trolling and it's getting out of hand.
"That's why I'm still continuing with Harvey's Law to make online abuse a criminal offence."
The 42-year-old star admits that she is relieved that Harvey can't understand the abuse as she would fear for his welfare otherwise.
She told the All About Autism podcast: "If Harvey knew, if he was a person that could understand it, you can understand why people would commit suicide and stuff.
"Luckily for Harvey he doesn't understand it, but I do. I will do everything I can to protect him. This is the thing, trolling cruel suicide, trolling causes mental health. It's got to stop. I do blame a lot of these social media sites."
Katie recently confessed that she hopes that she isn't outlived by her son.
She said: "I wish he would go before me. Not because I want him to die, but you talk to any mother and they worry about who will look after their disabled child when they are gone.
"He wouldn’t understand why I wasn’t there and it would break his heart. No one would cuddle him like me. No one would kiss him.
"The thought of him dying of a little broken heart would be awful."
