Katie Price is proud of her disabled son Harvey and doesn't regret putting him in the spotlight.
Price admits it hasn't been easy raising the 12 year old - whose father is her former boyfriend Dwight Yorke - but thinks her experiences of coping with the youngster help to raise awareness of families in the same situation as her.
Writing in her Now magazine column, she said: "Some people have criticised me for bringing my child into the public domain, but I want to be proud of Harvey and use my position as a voice for other families out there...
For years I've been shouting from the rooftops about my son Harvey and what he's had to endure daily and continues to endure.
"I've also highlighted the importance of family as a support network."
The 36-year-old brunette - who also has children Junior, nine, and Princess, seven, from her marriage to Peter Andre, and son Jett with current spouse Kieran Hayler - claims Harvey, who was born with a limited pituitary gland and suffers from a range of disorders, including Autism, is an "inspiration" to others and she doesn't want to be afraid of being proud of her disabled son.
Katie - who is pregnant with Kieran's second child - added: "[I don't want to] worry about not fitting in with society or disturbing the routine of the public when he has a 'behavioural' episode or 'inconveniencing' people with loud outbursts when on escalators, in shops or restaurants.
"These are scenarios that people take for granted daily, yet they can cause the most stress for many families that have children or adults with a disability."
