Katie Price says she was left 'emotionally destroyed' when she split from husband Peter Andre in 2009.
Price and Andre met on reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - they went on to marry in 2005.
Three and a half years and two children later the two ended their relationship.
Speaking to Now Magazine, Price said: "The only issue I've had was when me and Pete split. That's the only time I've cared ... It's taken ages [to get over it] because emotionally I was destroyed.
"Looking back, I don't know how I survived. I was slaughtered. Before that it was all a bit tongue-in-cheek and 'whatever'.
"It wasn't always nice, but when I was with Pete I was with his management [Claire Powell's Can Associates] as well and I thought they were my friends."
Junior, eight and Princess Tiaamii, six, are the couple's two children together, while Andre acted as step-father to Price's oldest son Harvey.
Price has married for the third time this year as she tied the knot with Kieran Hayler. She gave birth to her fourth child this summer.
