Katie Holmes loves to travel on public transport.
The 37-year-old actress enjoys getting the New York City Subway when she's at home in The Big Apple because it's the easiest way to get around and she can't understand why some famous people don't embrace regular modes of transport.
When asked if she uses the Subway, she said: "Why, don't you? I always sit on the bench if there's a bench available."
Although she maybe a regular commuter, Katie is a special talent and has just made her directorial debut on drama film 'All We Had', which based on Annie Weatherwax's 2014 novel of the same name.
As well as being behind the camera, the former 'Dawson's Creek actress also stars as impoverished single mother Rita Carmichael who has to cope with many emotional and financial hardships as she struggles to raise her teenage daughter Ruthie Carmichael.
Katie was often joined on set by her own 10-year-old daughter - her child with ex-husband Tom Cruise - and in the credits she dedicates the movie to her girl.
Speaking to Yahoo! Beauty, she said: "My daughter and I are very, very close. She helped me when I was preparing for it. We have a good time together. It's more about her than me. It's my first feature, and when she's older, I thought it might mean something to her that, yeah, of course I thanked you. She's my number one."
