Kathy Bates has announced her retirement from acting after 54 years.
The 76-year-old Hollywood star - who has earned an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards during her dazzling career - has declared that the reboot of 'Matlock' is her "last dance" after she gave it her all and found it "exhausting".
She told The New York Times: “Everything I’ve prayed for, worked for, clawed my way up for, I am suddenly able to be asked to use all of it.
“And it’s exhausting.
“This is my last dance."
The 'Misery' star had intended to call it quits before the reboot was offered to her after a difficult experience filming.
Fans can catch Kathy's last TV performance when 'Matlock' premieres on CBS on September 22.
Meanwhile, Kathy recently revealed one job she'd love is starring in one of her 'American Horror Story' co-star Kim Kardashian's SKIMS commercials.
The screen star was gifted some items from Kim's shapewear brand a couple of years ago and was promised she could appear in an advert - but she is still waiting to get the call.
Speaking to PEOPLE in May, the award-winning actress shared: "[Kim] sent me some SKIMS two or three years ago and she said she was going to put me in an ad. And so I think, Kim, I'm waiting. I'm ready."
Kim, 43, joined the cast of 'American Horror Story' in 2023, but when asked how she did, Kathy admitted she hadn't seen her showbiz pal in action.
She admitted at the time: "I haven't had a chance to see it. I've been learning lines for this."
