Katherine Jenkins thinks the lockdown has clarified what's important to her.
The 40-year-old opera singer - who has Aaliyah, five, and Xander, two, with Andrew Levitas - has relished spending time at home with her husband and their two children.
She told Woman & Home magazine: "Lockdown has clarified what’s important. I’m thankful for the time I’ve had with the kids and my husband. Normally, we aren’t in the same house for many consecutive nights. I’ll be away touring or he’ll be on a film set."
Katherine has been able to witness her children develop throughout the past year as they have already reached many "milestones" during the lockdown.
She continued: "It’s been amazing having so many nights sleeping in the same bed as Andrew and I’ve become more besotted with the kids because I’ve been here for their different milestones.
"Aaliyah learned to read at the start of lockdown and Xander was just speaking words but is now a chatterbox. It has been a real bonding time."
Similarly, motherhood has given the 'I Believe' hitmaker "clarity", as she used to travel for work several months at a time but will now come straight home to spend time with her children.
She said: "Motherhood has given me clarity. I used to go on tour for months but will now literally fly to Japan, do the concert and come home because I don’t want to be away from my children or miss anything."
Meanwhile, Katherine insisted it would have been “weird” to not involve her kids in her Christmas special, a musical spectacular filmed at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
She said: "It felt weird for them not to be involved because this is a project that comes from the heart.
"You see them running down the corridors and getting into mischief and my daughter is literally hanging out with the Sugar Plum Fairy, so she was thrilled."
