Katharine McPhee is expecting her first child with David Foster.
The 36-year-old actress and singer is set to become a first-time mother, as she’s reportedly expecting her first child with her husband David, sources have confirmed to People magazine.
Katharine was also spotted out in Montecito, California, earlier this week, where she reportedly displayed her burgeoning baby bump.
The former ‘American Idol’ contestant tied the knot with David, 70, in June last year, and their impending arrival will be the sixth child for the fellow musician, who already has daughters Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34, whom he has with second wife Rebecca Dyer, and daughters Allison, 50, and Amy, 46, from previous relationships.
Meanwhile, David’s daughter Erin previously revealed Katharine has been a positive addition to their family, and joked her sisters even refer to Katharine as “mommy”, despite her being younger than all but one of David’s children.
Erin said: "Interestingly, the age difference has played a role in a positive way. Our dad comes from a generation where women are more passive. He is also passive about his feelings. Kat has really pushed him to open up. We could get into a fight, and then Kat's like, 'No, you have to pick up the phone, call your daughter back.' She's a facilitator, which is really important. She pushes him to be more emotional and more vulnerable.”
And David also gushed over his spouse, saying he gives her credit for joining a family consisting of five adult daughters.
He explained: "I think she navigates it really, really well. And so do they. Because they could be horrible. It sure makes it easier for me that they get along. It's not a fleeting thing, either. It's been a few years.”
As of the time of writing, Katharine and David are yet to publicly confirm their baby news.
