Kate Hudson is enjoying being single.
The 36-year-old actress ended her engagement to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy in 2014 and revealed she is happy without a partner and just enjoying spending time with her two children.
She said: "I'm very much enjoying being single. That's very nice. And being focused on work and kids is really nice."
Kate has sons Ryder, 12, from her marriage to Chris Robinson and four-year-old Bing with former fiancé Matt, and says that maintaining a good relationship with her exes for the sake of the kids is a priority.
She told PEOPLE: "I'm sort of finding out more things about myself, and my work is an important part of my life. And it's hard when you're a mom. When you have a young child, a lot of guilt comes with working a lot so I took a little bit of a backseat, which I'm glad I did. But now that Bing is a bit older, I'm working more and I'm finding it makes me very happy.
"Every situation is different. To create a nice relationship with an ex, the love has to change form. I think you just have to put your children first."
Kate was most recently linked to Nick Jonas, 23, and he admitted they had an "unbelievable connection" but refused to confirm if they ever hooked up.
He previously said: "Kate's incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that's beautiful. Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I'm not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She's amazing."
