Kate Beckinsale is in denial about her daughter Lily going off to university.
Although the 42-year-old actress is looking forward to being able to spend more time in her native UK when Lily, 17, goes to college, she admitted she can't bear the thought of her daughter moving away.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of 'Love & Friendship' at The Curzon, Mayfair on Tuesday (24.05.16), she said: "Lily's going to go to college so I won't be stuck in Los Angeles for the school year. But she's not going for a year and a half, so I'm pretending that she's not going."
Meanwhile, Kate revealed she was thrilled to reunite with her 'The Last Days of Disco' co-star Chloe Sevigny and director Whit Stillman for 'Love & Friendship', 18 years after they first worked together.
She said: "I'd worked with Chloe before, 18 years ago when we did 'The Last Days of Disco', so this was kind of a reunion, it was so lovely, I mean she is a fantastic girl, I like her enormously. It was weird because you think you'll never get the chance to do that, you know get the same director and the same co-star and actually it was almost, well it was so comfortable. It was just exactly like we were doing a sequel in slightly more uncomfortable clothing. But it didn't feel like that much time had gone by."
Kate plays the acerbic Lady Susan in the new movie, based on a short novel by Jane Austen and loved her feisty character.
She said: "I really liked her, I think she's so funny. It was good, it just means you have to be on top of your lines. Whit is hilariously funny and the novel is super funny and cruel and more extreme than the movie.
Director Whit also attended the London premiere, as did castmembers Jenn Murray, Emma Greenwell, Kelly Campbell, James Fleet, and Morfydd Clark.
