Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead this year's MTV Video Music Award nominations.
The 'Mirrors' singer and 'Thrift Shop' hitmakers share six nominations apiece at the annual awards ceremony, including the coveted Video of the Year prize.
Justin's 'Mirrors' video - which pays a moving tribute to his grandparents' marriage - earned the star four nominations ranging from the top prize, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing. In addition to 'Mirrors', his comeback single 'Suit & Tie', which features rapper Jay-Z, picked up two additional nods for Best Collaboration and Best Direction.
First time nominees Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are celebrating nods for three different visuals, with their number one hit single 'Thrift Shop' up for Video of the Year; 'Can't Hold Us' up for Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing; and finally, 'Same Love' up for Best Video with a Social Message.
Both acts face stiff competition in the top category, however, as Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines', Taylor Swift's 'I Knew You Were Trouble' and Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out of Heaven' also compete for the Video of the Year award.
Bruno follows Justin and Macklemore in third place for the most nominations, landing four in total, while Robin, Pink, Miley Cyrus and 30 Seconds to Mars all have three nods each.
Meanwhile, newcomers Iggy Azalea and Austin Mahone will compete for the renamed Artist to Watch prize, which was previously called Best New Artist.
The MTV Video Music Awards take place in Brooklyn, New York, on August 25.
