Justin Bieber thinks his church leader has turned him into a "better man."

The 23-year-old pop star - who turned to religion in 2015 - has taken to Instagram to thank Josh Mehl, who leads his place of worship in Los Angeles, for helping him turn his life around following a few turbulent years in the public eye.

Alongside a photograph of him and Josh, he wrote: "I have learned so much from you. I'm a better man because of you. I'm a better friend because of you.

"You have been a true example of what Following Jesus looks like and I'm so grateful I get to walk through this life knowing you! (sic)"

The 'Sorry' hitmaker's gushy posts comes just days after he reached out to his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez - who is now in a relationship with The Weeknd - in a bid to make amends following her life-saving kidney transplant over the summer months.

The pair - who have been on sour terms since they ended their relationship two years ago - set tongues wagging last weekend when they were spotted spending time together at Selena's home in Studio City, California.

The hunk arrived at Selena's home in his white G-Wagon on Sunday night (22.10.17) before the former Disney star turned up 10 minutes later.

The duo - who dated on and off from 2011 until 2015 - weren't alone at the property as some of their mutual friends joined them before everyone left around midnight.

However, although they are now spending time together, there's nothing romantic between them and Selena's boyfriend The Weeknd - who is currently on tour - is fully aware that they have reconnected and are happy for them to hang out.

Selena and The Weeknd - real name is Abel Tesfaye - began dating at the beginning of this year but didn't go public until May when they attended the Met Gala.

The 'Can't Feel My Face' hitmaker and the 'Bad Liar' singer have been inseparable ever since and The Weeknd was the "biggest support" while she underwent surgery.

A source said: "Abel has been one of her biggest supports. She had been traveling with him on his tour and he was off during her surgery and right after during her recovery. He's been very caring and it's meant a lot to her to have him by her side."
