Sharon Osbourne attempted to take her own life four years ago because she "just couldn't bear it".
The 68-year-old television personality - who has son Jack, 34, and daughters Kelly, 35, and Aimee, 37, with husband Ozzy - has opened up about her suicide attempt and how two girls at the facility she attended to get help, who were using drugs and alcohol to deal with the death of their mothers, "shocked" her to "get it together".
Speaking on Thursday's (08.10.20) episode of 'The Talk', Sharon recalled: “Four years ago, I tried to take my life and it wasn’t for attention. I just couldn’t bear it.
“I went to a place to give me help.
“They told me they were drinking and using drugs… both of them, their mothers had committed suicide. And it messed them up so bad, that they couldn’t cope with their lives and that shocked me into … am I going to do this to my family, my babies, no way. And that shocked me — it was like an electric shock and it was like, get it together.”
Sharon also revealed she didn't feel she could tell anyone about what was happening to her, which left her feeling "alone" and confused.
The mother-of-three started taking antidepressants 28 years ago when a girl at her work was taking them and she told her to take the pill and then go to her doctor to get her own prescription.
And when the medication worked that was a "big breakthrough" for Sharon.
She said: "I took some of her pills and after a couple of weeks I felt better.
Then she said this is the doctor go to this doctor and tell him how you feel. That was the big breakthrough for me.
"I didn’t understand why I was feeling so different to everyone else. I knew no one who felt that way. I couldn’t tell anybody. I honestly was confused.
"I had total confusion. I was lost I felt alone. I knew I hated the way I felt. I hated it.
"I would wake up in the morning and be like please god don’t let me feel this way. Let me be able to take the kids to school, go to work do my thing, I just couldn’t."
Before her suicide attempt, Sharon revealed she also tried to overdose.
She added: "I would take whatever was in the bathroom cabinet. But I know why I did it. I did it because it was, I needed help."
