Josh Groban admitted it was "a dream come true" to perform at Joe Biden's dog's Indoguration Ceremony.
The 39-year-old singer-and-actor got to sing '(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?' at the special virtual ceremony on Sunday (17.01.21) to honour the new US President-Elect, Joe Biden, taking over from Donald Trump and to celebrate his and wife Dr. Jill Biden's German Shepherd, Major, becoming the first rescue pup to live at the White House.
On performing at the unique event hosted by Delaware Humane Association and Pumpkin Pet, Josh wrote on Instagram: “IT CAME TRUE!! I am so happy.
“The world is a mess, but we can all agree dogs rule. Let’s celebrate Major’s Indoguration and raise $$ for his rescue shelter, Delaware Humane Association. Today at 3pm EST! All donations go to Major’s shelter, DHA. Zoom tickets have sold out but you can still watch the show on YouTube (link in my stories!) and donate to DHA using the link in the YouTube video description. See you there! (sic)"
The Biden's, who also have another German Shepherd named Champ, will move into the White House on Wednesday (20.01.21).
The Indoguration comes after Foo Fighters and John Legend were recently confirmed to join Kerry Washington, Eva Longoria and Bruce Springsteen at the official inauguration.
The 'Best of You' rockers and four stars will all be appearing at the primetime 'Celebrating America' television special - which will be hosted by Tom Hanks - after Biden was sworn in at the US Capitol.
Organisers have confirmed that Eva and Kerry "will introduce segments throughout the night ranging from stories of young people making a difference in their communities to musical performances".
Dave Grohl and his band join John and Bruce as musical acts performing remotely.
The team behind the special have promised the event - set to air on most of the major broadcast and cable news networks - "will showcase the American people's resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild."
The special will also feature speeches by Biden, 78, and 56-year-old Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.
As previously announced, Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake and Demi Lovato are also set to perform.
Ant and Justin will deliver a rendition of their own track 'Better Days'.
