Jordin Sparks feels "sore" after giving birth to her baby son earlier this week.
The 'One Step At a Time' hitmaker and her husband Dana Isaiah welcomed their little boy Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr - DJ for short - into the world on May 2 and, although she feels well enough to be back at work, attending the 'Show Dogs' premiere at TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Los Angeles this weekend, she is still tender from the delivery.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', she said: "I'm really good. I'm sore, but good. He's here. It's just fun to stare at him. His name is DJ, named after daddy, and the moment was incredible! To finally have him in my arms and stare at him. He's really here. He made it. This is what we've been waiting for. He's just so perfect.
"I was actually expecting to be immobile. I was expecting all of that and when I woke up the next day I was like, 'Oh, I can get out of bed. I'm OK.'
"I mean, I want to be careful. I don't want to end up in the hospital, but at the same time I actually do feel really good. I knew about the premiere a couple months ago but I completely spaced. Then they were like, 'Hey, the premiere is on Saturday. How are you feeling?' and I was like, 'Oh, yeah. I can actually go to that.' "
And, although she's only known her baby a few days, the 28-year-old singer has already predicted that he'll follow in her footsteps and take up a music career.
She explained: "He's really calm, but he does have lungs. Maybe he'll be a singer."
The couple - who got married in a secret ceremony last year - would like to give DJ a sibling or two in the future but they're not planning to do so for another three years.
Asked if she would like anymore children, Jordin said: "I would love for him to grow [up with siblings] because we had siblings. But ask me in like three years."
