Jon Voight has been shopping for Christmas presents for his grandchildren which he will sent to them in Australia, where they are currently filming with their mother, Angelina Jolie.
The actor loves to spoil his grandkids - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, eight, Shiloh, seven and twins Vivienne and Knox, five - and has been getting gifts ready even though he won't see them this year as they are filming in Australia.
He told OKmagazine.com: "The grandchildren are just terrific. They're in Australia. Angie's down there working on her film so I won't be able to see them this holiday.
"I spent three hours in [toy store] FAO Schwartz yesterday, just looking around, just to sniff it out. I love that place. It's a place of my early years."
In the absence of any of his own grandchildren to ask, the 74-year-old star - who is Angelina's father - enlisted some youngsters who happened to be in the shop to help.
He added: "I love kids. When I go to FAO Schwartz, I enjoy talking to kids. You find out the experts are the kids.
"It's hard for me. For everybody, I get one item, just so that nobody gets something different. Of course, you have to know each of their personalities. But Angie takes care of that stuff. They're all taken care of very nicely."
Angelina is currently filming scenes for her third film as director, 'Unbroken', in Australia.
