Johnny Depp couldn't get Amber Heard out of his "head" after they met on the movie 'The Rum Diary' in 2011.
The 52-year-old actor knew almost immediately that the blonde beauty, 29, was special and was convinced something would come of them after he was struck down with the urge to "track her down" once the film had wrapped up.
Speaking at the 31st annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California, the handsome star said of his now-wife: "She was in my head, so I tracked her down.
"We tracked each other down. We tracked each other down. Actually, incidentally, it was amazing."
The couple, who began dating in 2012, have just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary and the 'Black Mass' star still can't believe he's managed to bag such a "brilliant" lady.
He said recently: "We connect on a lot of levels but the first thing that really got me was she's an aficionado of the blues. I would play a song, some old obscure blues song and she knew what it was. She's very, very literate. She's a voracious reader, as I have been, so we connected on that as well. And she's kind of brilliant. I'm a lucky man."
And Amber is equally happy with the Hollywood hunk, admitting having stepchildren - Johnny's daughter Lily-Rose and son Jack - is the "greatest, most surprising gift" ever.
