Johnny Depp confirmed engagement rumours yesterday by wearing a 'chick ring' on a visit to Beijing.
'I think that I would be better at making women’s shoes than I would be at wedding planning.'
Johnny responded to questions about his suspected engagement to actress Amber Heard by saying: 'The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.'
Is this the Pirates of the Caribbean star's attempt to kick start the latest wedding trend craze? Apparently not. According to American magazine Us Weekly, the ring was meant for Amber but was too big, so the actor decided to wear it himself.
The pair met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009. Following his split from former partner of 14 years and mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis in June 2012, Johnny and Amber were confirmed as a couple.
According to Us Weekly Jonny -who is currently promoting his new film Transcendence- proposed after a year and a half of dating and fans have been waiting patiently for confirmation of the upcoming nuptials.
When asked this week if he’d be playing part in the wedding planning, Johnny confessed: ‘I think that I would be better at making women’s shoes than I would be at wedding planning, I can’t plan anything.’
It will be the second marriage for 50-year old Johnny; reports from Us Weekly say that he and his first time bride Amber, 27, celebrated the engagement at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles on March 14th. The guest list to the private affair included friends Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler and Mandy Moore.
