John Boyega wants to star as Anthony Joshua in a movie about the heavyweight boxer's life.
The 26-year-old actor was asked during an interview with The Hook whether he'd be interested to play grime musician Wiley in a biopic - but John dismissed that prospect, instead saying he'd be keener to star as the current world champion fighter.
He said: "I couldn't bring the Wiley to it you know. I think they should get a newcomer. Maybe I should play Anthony Joshua."
John has recently emerged as one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood.
But the London-born actor admitted that his own career success has been inspired by that of Idris Elba, who made the switch from the UK to Hollywood well before he did.
He shared: "I would call Idris the first Avenger, he's Captain America of everybody. He went out to the US and he was one of the first that I heard about that made it happen in a very commercially successful way."
This comes shortly after John revealed one of his ambitions is to promote diversity in the movie business.
The actor - who has turned to producing on his new movie 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' - admitted he set up his company, UpperRoom Entertainment, to have an impact on how things are run and to make sure he has an "influence" in the industry.
He said: "That's why I set up my own production company, making sure you have an influence on casting and several different things - trying to make sure it's not just a conversation, it's also actions, real work.
"The aim is to work to a point where it doesn't have to be this much of a big thing or a big conversation, we should be able to watch things that reflect our world, that have much more interesting choices, and more diverse choices for casting, without it being a debate.
"So, for me, I'm just working towards that moment in time and doing my little piece."
