Joe Simpson "powered through" his cancer battle for his children.
The photographer was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September 2016 but was adamant to fight it off for the sake of his daughters, Jessica and Ashlee.
Speaking a clip from the upcoming episode of 'ASHLEE+EVAN', he said: "The biggest part is because I don't have testosterone, I don't have energy. So you just have to power through. A year ago changed my life. I remember saying to the doctor, what if I don't have surgery. He said, 'In six months you'll be dead.' You know, I really wrestled [with surgery and] with just saying, 'I'll see you guys later.' I couldn't do that to you and your sister, and to my little grandbabies."
Earlier this month, Ashlee revealed Joe Simpson has been "doing good" following his battle with cancer and is "healthy" once again.
She said: "It's such a blessing. He's doing good now and feeling good, I'm so happy he's healthy now."
Whilst Evan added: "It was a really scary experience for Ashlee, for their whole family. So for me I was just trying to make sure I was there and paying attention to how everyone was feeling."
Joe was declared as cancer free back in July, two years after diagnosis.
He said at the time: "I feel good. I beat it. I have zero cancer. I went from Stage IV to cancer-free."
Joe had an operation and he was recovering well from it.
A source shared at the time: "He's feeling great now and is optimistic. He's felt so much love and support from his family and friends."
