Joanna Krupa would be "freaking out" if she hadn't frozen her eggs.
The 38-year-old model is relieved she decided to undergo the treatment a few years ago because she wants to have kids one day but that doesn't look like happening any time soon following her divorce from businessman Romain Zago.
She said: "Thank goodness I froze my eggs. I would honestly be freaking out right now if I didn't.
"You don't want to wake up one day and be like, 'My god, what was I thinking?' "
"I decided a few years ago to freeze them so I would be safe."
The former 'Real Housewives of Miami' star decided to freeze her eggs because she didn't want to wake up one day and find out she couldn't have children.
She added to Life & Style magazine: "You never know what life will bring. What if that moment comes when you can't have kids?"
Joanna and Romain - who married in 2013 - split in May this year and they filed for divorce in July.
She said at the time: "It's been an interesting day but it's all good. We're on great terms and I'm very grateful Romain is supporting me right now. We are on great terms, we talk more than ever.
We're best friends and not much has changed. I'm very grateful to have Romain's support and we respect our ten years together."
He added: "It's very strange because it's almost like we're better friends now than we used to be. We have each other's back just as much as we used to do.
"We just signed the divorce, we went to lunch together and it feels like we're still together. It's a very strange and unprepared situation - we're both shocked. That opens the doors for one day, who knows, we get back together. You never know, right? Maybe we get back together after one year. Nothing is impossible in our case."
