The 'Let Me Entertain You' hitmaker had hoped to refurbish his £17.5 million Victorian home in the Holland Park area of London, including an underground extension, but his Led Zeppelin neighbour has forced the plans to be scrapped after worrying drill vibrations would impact his own home.
Robbie - who lives in the Grade-II listed property with his wife Ayda Field and their children, two-year-old Theodora Rose and four-month-old Charlton Valentine - purchased the property, which previously belonged to the late film director Michael Winner, in 2013, and had hoped to add a recording studio.
However, the 71-year-old rocker reportedly slammed the proposals in a letter to Kensington and Chelsea council, and enlisted the help of two architects to help protect his ornate Grade-I listed Tower House, in which he has lived since 1972.
The two-storey planned underground extension has since been binned, with the 41-year-old musician's architect withdrawing plans for the project.
Jimmy previously revealed he was against the extension as he believed it might cause problems in his own property, saying there was, "potential for damage to the fabric of the house and especially decorative finishes."
