Jesy Nelson enjoyed being struck down with an ear infection - because she got a week off work.

The Little Mix star recently missed out on a promotional trip to Japan and whilst her fellow bandmates - Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh Anne Pinnock - missed having the 24-year-old singer with them, she loved the break.

When asked if her ear infection was getting any better at Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Coca-Cola, she told BANG Showbiz: "Oh yeah! Got me out of it [work[ for a week."

Leigh Anne shared: "We hated it though, it was awful."

Whilst Perrie added: "That video we sent [whilst in Japan] and we were like, 'Oh we miss you so much' and she was like, 'Yeah I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed having a week off.' It was so funny."

And despite not minding the week off, Jesy previously described the infection as "bloody horrid".

She tweeted at the time: "Hey guys unfortunately I have a bloody horrid ear infection that is not allowing me to fly and see you beautiful Japanese mixers xjesyx.

"I am so gutted that I'm not gonna be able to come over and see you guys again I love you all very much & I can't wait to see you again soon. (sic)"

At tonight's (06.12.15) Jingle Bell Ball, Little Mix will take to the stage alongside the likes of Nick Jonas, Calvin Harris and pop superstar Justin Bieber.
