Jess Glynne is thrilled that Amy Winehouse continues to be such an inspiration to young musicians.
The 'Hold My Hand' singer was recently named an ambassador for the Amy Winehouse Foundation and was on hand to present certificates to the latest graduates from the Amy's Yard programme on Monday night (14.12.15).
The programme helps aspiring musicians as they find their own voice, with mentors such as Plan B and Lily Allen aiding them into becoming self-sustaining artists.
The young musicians are given time in Amy's own recording studio and given masterclasses on a variety of subjects from companies including Island Records, Metropolis Music and Handle Recruitment.
As she took to the stage for the ceremony at The Forge in Camden, London, on Monday, Jess spoke about the lasting impact Amy has on the music industry as a whole.
She said: "It was fantastic to be able to see what this programme has done for these young people. There is so much talent involved and getting the chance to learn the craft of music and talk to real experts is a great opportunity. It also shows just how creativity and music itself is simply good for people.
"Amy was an inspiration to me and it is wonderful that she continues to be that for young people through this programme."
Following the ceremony, the graduates then performed some of the tracks they have created during their time on the programme.
An album of the work produced on a former programme was recently released, entitled 'Amy's Yard: The Sessions Vol. 1'.
Jess has more than a few things in common with late singer Amy, who died in July 2011 aged 27.
Like Amy, Jess hails from north London and is now considered one of the most successful singers in the British music industry after a heady rise to fame.
