The British pop star is philosophical about her most recent relationship, even though she still has some unanswered questions.
She said: "I am over it, but find it sad that one day someone can be everything in your life - and then they're nothing. It felt like bereavement.
"I don't know if she is alive or dead because she wants nothing to do with me, and I don't know why. But I am a better person for going through that."
Meanwhile, Jess also admitted she considers her career success to be "surreal".
She said, too, that she was recently tempted to gloat about her own achievements to a record executive who had rejected her in the past.
Jess told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "There was a guy at one of the labels I sent recordings to who wrote back: 'Don't give up your dayjob.'
"I was so upset. I considered contacting him recently, to rub his nose in it, but then I thought, 'Nah. What's the point?'"
