Jeremy Renner is said to be "devastated" following his wife's filing for divorce.
Sonni Pacheco has decided to ask for a legal separation from the Avengers actor after just 10 months of marriage. The pair have a 21-month-old daughter named Ava Berlin.
Their relationship is said to have started crumbling following their secret nuptials, but Jeremy was hoping to make things work for the sake of their child.
A source close to the star said the two had began sleeping in separate rooms some time ago, telling Us Weekly magazine: "It wasn't traditional, but he was hopeful they could make it work for Ava. He's devastated."
Sonni's now seeking physical custody of their daughter and has requested her stolen passport, birth certificate and social security card from Jeremy in her court documents.
Jeremy's reported to be worried that his daughter will now be taken to live in Canada but the insider says the beauty "just wants independence".
In September, Jeremy had said of his secret wedding: "I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy. I don't need her to get hammered with my life.
"Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered. Paps follow me around ... that's fine. But I don't like being followed when I'm with my family."
