Jenny McCarthy has rejected the opportunity to return to The View, after co-hosting one series of the ABC talk show from 2013. After leaving in early 2014, she and her husband Donnie Wahlberg have revealed Jenny was offered the chance to return within six months of leaving.
Donnie said: "She's very gracious about 'The View' and I told her the day that she left, I said they're going to ask you back within six months.
"She won't say it, but they did. Not officially, but they did."
Jenny was initially coy about the issue, but eventually confessed she has been approached about a return.
She told Howard Stern on his SiriusXm radio show: "One of the producers called and said, would I ever consider it? And I said, 'No, thank you, because I couldn't be me.' "
Meanwhile, a source has told the New York Post newspaper that ABC executives have blocked Whoopi Goldberg from quitting the show to pursue another opportunity, following the departure of Rosie O'Donnell, and Jenny suggested the floundering programme may not last too much longer.
The former Playboy model said: "I think they might try one more year, then I think the Titanic might go down."
