Jennifer Lawrence's essay on inequality was inspired by her 'Hunger Games' character.

The 25-year-old actress - who penned a piece called 'Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co-Stars?' detailing how she and Amy Adams were paid less than the male 'American Hustle' cast members - admitted portraying Katniss Everdeen gave her the strength to speak out on such a contentious issue.
She said: "I don't see how I couldn't be inspired by this character, I mean I was so inspired by her when I read the books, it's the reason I wanted to play her.
"So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her."
Jennifer has adored playing Katniss but admits she found her alter ego's slow transformation to a revolutionary difficult to portray because she wanted her to always be a "warrior".
Speaking at a press conference for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2', she said: "I wanted her to be a warrior right away, I wanted her to want to be a leader.
"I had to keep my own personal emotions about her situation out of my performance."
In her essay, Jennifer wrote about the pay gap between herself and "people with d***s".
She wrote: "When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with d***s, I didn't get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early.
"I didn't want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don't need."
