Jennifer Lawrence sees many parallels between her own life and that of her 'Hunger Games' character Katniss Everdeen.
The actress - who celebrated the launch of the new instalment of the franchise at the world premiere of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' in London last night (10.11.14) - has compared the character's struggle to deal with her new found fame with that of her own life when she began being recognised for her talent.
She explained to BANG Showbiz: "I remember reading the first books, and when I read them I was going through my first awards season for 'Winter's Bone' and I'd never experienced anything like that. Just being put in dresses that are uncomfortable and looking not like myself and everyone's listening to you and you're like, 'Don't listen to me, I'm 20!' And then growing into it in a way.
"I feel like there were a few parallels having people look at you and listen to you at a young age when you don't really feel ready, and forcing yourself, thinking, 'People are listening to me so what should I say?' "
However, the 24-year-old star doesn't think she'd be able to handle the pressure that Katniss finds herself under as the symbol of hope for rebellion in the fictional world of Panem.
She added: "I feel like drawing on personal experiences is tricky for me, I never really understand because it's not me, it's a very particular person who handles her emotions in a very different way.
"I'd be crying every single day if I was Katniss, I'd be like, 'Where's my mom?' "
Jennifer was joined on the red carpet at the premiere of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' by her co-stars Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Jena Malone, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer.
Other celebrities in attendance included Daisy Lowe, Lorde and
Katie Price and her husband Kieran Hayler.
