Jennifer Lawrence can't help being attracted to guys who "impress" her.
The 'Joy' actress - who split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in August - insists she is happy to be single but thinks it is only natural she still feels "attracted" to people.
Asked about a recent Vogue article, in which she said she'd been spending a lot of time alone, Jennifer said: "This is the problem with press. When you're talking and hanging out with somebody, it's very different when it's written.
"It's not a sad thing to be alone. I think what I was trying to get across was that I don't feel a lack of something not being in a relationship. I don't feel like there is a hole to be filled... An emotional hole to be filled...
"You know, I'm 25. I'm successful. But I'm a girl. So I'm still always going to be attracted to somebody who impresses me."
And her 'Joy' director - and frequent collaborator - David O. Russell went on to explain the actress' own "power" makes it difficult to find a relationship.
In a joint TimesTalk discussion in New York last night (14.12.15), he said: "It's the contradiction. You yourself are powerful, but you want to be with somebody who is also powerful that you can look up to. But to find someone who can do that but also respect your power and not be threatened by it, that takes a very special thing."
Jennifer replied with a laugh: "Yes. So that is why I am alone."
