The 27-year-old actress might be successful in Hollywood, but she has admitted she struggled when it came to her studies as she decided to drop out of school at the age of 14, without picking up her diploma.

She said: "I dropped out of middle school. I don't technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated. I really don't [regret it]. I wanted to forge my own path. I found what I wanted to do, and I didn't want anything getting in the way of it. Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career. I mean, from the age of 14."

The 'Red Sparrow' star said she "never felt very smart" whilst at school, and insists she only has "confidence" in her intelligence when it comes to reading scripts and understanding emotions.

She added: "I struggled through school. I never felt very smart. And when I'm reading the script and I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way, that was the whole part of my brain that I didn't even know existed - something that I could be confident in and I didn't want to let it go."

Jennifer - who rocketed to stardom when she landed the lead role as Katniss Everdeen in the 'Hunger Games' franchise - does admit that whilst things have worked out for her, her parents weren't too impressed with her decision to drop out.

Speaking during a preview clip for her upcoming interview with '60 Minutes' - which will be aired on Sunday (25.02.18) - she said: "It was just an overwhelming feeling of 'I get this. This is what I was meant to do.' And to get people to try to understand that, when you're 14 years old wanting to drop out of school and do this, and your parents are just like 'You're out of your mind.'"
