Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she will not be waking up early today to hear the Oscar nominations.

Aniston has already bagged a Best Actress Golden Globe and screen Actors Guild Award nomination for her role in Cake, and could find herself in the Oscar mix for the first time when the nominations are announced later today.

However, Aniston says that she plans to still be in bed asleep when the nominations are revealed at 8.30am EST - 1.30 GMT - and doesn’t want to ‘torture’ herself by watching them live.

Speaking to E! News, the actress said: "I'm not going to torture myself. My phone rang yesterday at five o'clock in the morning and I was like, 'What's happening? Who's dead or b, is today Thursday?' "

"I'll be in bed. I'll be in bed with my beloved and my dogs dreaming wild little dreams."

Aniston's role in 'Cake' sees her star as a woman who becomes addicted to painkillers and becomes obsessed with the suicide of a female in her chronic pain support group, and she admits it was "liberating" to wear little makeup and have prosthetic scarring across her face and body for the film.

Aniston missed out on winning the Best Actress Golden Globe over the weekend to Julianne Moore for her performance in Still Alice. Moore, Felicity Jones, Reese Witherspoon, and Rosamund Pike could also be in the mix. However, Amy Adams made her claim for a Best Actress nod at the weekend when she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
