Jason Momoa was starstruck when he met Barbra Streisand.
The 41-year-old actor’s mother was always a huge fan of the ‘Funny Girl’ star so he had always been in “awe” of her and couldn’t believe it when she stopped to say hello to him at the Academy Awards.
He gushed in an interview: “Growing up, my mum raised me to love Barbra Streisand so I've always been in awe of her.
“I was at the Oscars and I turned around and she was there. I didn't know what to say, but she just said, 'Oh hello Jason.'
“Inside I was freaking out - I couldn't believe she knew my name.
“I thought, 'I can't wait to tell Mum,' I had to get a photo to show her."
Jason – who has Lola 13, Nakoa-Wolf, 11, with wife Lisa Bonet – will always be grateful for his title role in ‘Aquaman’ because it’s meant he can now be more selective about his career.
He said: "Before 'Aquaman' I wasn't an actor who was able to pick and choose roles - I was a family man and I had to put food on the table. Since 'Aquaman', things have changed and I'm able to pick the roles that I'm actually driven by.
“Playing Aquaman really was a once-in-a lifetime role. I knew I couldn't say no to it."
The former ‘Game of Thrones’ star insisted his wife isn’t fazed by the attention he receives from fans.
He said: “She knows I only have eyes for her. It's the kids who ask, 'Why do people want a photo with you?' And I always answer, 'Because I'm your daddy.' “
While he considers himself romantic, Jason isn’t keen on grand public gestures.
He said: “I'd like to think [I'm a romantic husband] but most of it I like to do away from the public eye and social media."
