Jason Derulo is enjoying "exploring" since splitting from Jordin Sparks.
The 'Want to Want Me' hitmaker and the 'No Air' singer called it quits last year and the 25-year-old star has admitted it is "amazing" being on his own.
When asked what he's enjoying most about being a single man, he shared: "Just the exploration; kind of learning about yourself. I think a lot of times, when we're in relationships, we solely think about making that person happy, which is amazing and cool. But when you're single, you do that with yourself.
"What makes me happy? Like, 'Today I'm gonna get a special massage with three masseuses.' You are doing you; there's nobody else to worry about. You don't have to check in with anybody, it's amazing."
Jason also revealed he has used his bitter split from the 25-year-old star as inspiration for his new music.
Talking about 'Trade Hearts', he told PEOPLE magazine: "A lot has happened in the last year or so. 'Trade Hearts' is basically explaining where I was at and where I'm at now ... which explains how easy it would be if I could trade hearts with that person who it didn't work out with.
"Sometimes men don't understand women and vice versa - women don't understand men. If we could have traded hearts for a second, maybe I could understand why you were lying. Maybe you would understand why I would stay silent and not explain something."
