The 69-year-old actress revealed that she discovered her romantic notes to her first husband Michael Attenborough - son of the late actor Richard Attenborough - in storage during lockdown.

Jane, who played Bond girl Solitaire in 'Live and Let Die', told Sebastian Shakespeare's column in the Daily Mail newspaper: "I found my old love letters from when I was 15.

"I just spoke with my first husband and sent him the letters. The family got to see what their life is about and about my life when I was their age.

"We loved every second - it strengthened our bonds."

Jane began dating Michael when she was a teenager and the pair were married between 1971 and 1973 - although the actress believes that the union didn't last as they were "simply too young".

Meanwhile, Jane was recently annoyed when someone else was cast to play the younger version of her character in 'Glow & Darkness'.

Jane portrays Eleanor of Aquitaine in the historical drama series and claims she was originally told she'd play her throughout her life from the age of 25 - but the plans then changed without any warning.

She said: "They told me that only I was going to play myself at 25. But before I even got round to doing it, the day before, without telling me, they found another actress to play me at 25.

"It’s something I really don’t understand at all because believe it or not, and you can see on Instagram, they don’t even need to do the facial stuff on me. It works just fine. Joan Collins is 87 and she’s supposed to be playing a woman who dies at 40."
