The 41-year-old actress - who is married to former footballer Allan Russell and has 13-month-old Roman with him - tries not to partake in the annual tradition of deciding to do something specifically in the coming year because she prefers to examine different aspects from her life that she can "change and grow" on a monthly basis instead.
She told Fox News Digital: "I try not to do resolutions. I try to take something each month to try and change and grow and do. That's what I'm going to continue on doing."
Meanwhile, Allan noted that he is of a similar opinion when it comes to resolutions because he will achieve things whenever he feels necessary.
He said: "I've never been one for New Year's resolution. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it at the point of the year that it needs to get done. Not just December 31."
The former 'One Tree Hill' star also has Jolie, eight, and Jace, five, with ex-husband Mike Caussin but it was recently revealed that she "lost almost half" of her money when they divorced in 2021 after six years of marriage amid a cheating scandal.
Speaking on 'I Do, Part 2' with Jennie Garth, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, Jenna said: "In my last marriage, to my husband of almost seven years, I did not have him sign a prenup.
"To me it was, 'This is my one, forever, and we're getting married.
"When he cheated, the first round of affairs when he was in rehab, I made him sign a postnup. But that did not hold up in court."
Prior to her relationship with Mike, Jana was initially married to Michael Gambino for a matter of months in 2004 and then to Johnathon Schaech from 2010 until 2011.
