James Franco was among those affected by the shooting at LAX airport on Friday (01.11.13).
Franco was left stranded on the tarmac when his flight landed at Los Angeles International Airport amidst chaos after a gunman opened fire at around 9.20am local time.
James posted a solemn looking picture of himself waiting to leave a plane on his Instagram account.
He captioned the snap: "At #lax Some s** tbag shot up the place. (sic)"
It appear the 35-year-old star had a long wait before he could go about his day as his next message followed five hours later.
James wrote: "WE'RE OUT! - everyone was calm (sic)"
The scary shooting, which took place at Terminal 3 of the airport, reportedly left one person dead and several more injured.
Other stars affected by the tragic incident include singer Nick Jonas and 'Glee' actor Mark Salling.
Nick, 21, was due to land in the very terminal the shooting occurred and was also left waiting to leave the airport.
He tweeted: "Landed at LAX at to the news that there was a shooting in the terminal my plane was supposed to deplane at.
"Currently waiting on the plane in a remote parking area. I am safe. Praying for the victims of this shooting."
LAX is frequented daily by celebrities travelling in and out of Hollywood.
