James Arthur's guitarist helped him convert to veganism.
The 29-year-old singer recently made the decision to follow a plant-based diet and no longer gorges on animal products, and revealed he decided to make the change because his guitarist is a big vegan and he grew up with "vegan propaganda" because of his vegetarian sister.
He told the Metro newspaper: "I've been vegan for seven months. My guitarist is a big vegan, a guru if you like. And my sister has been vegetarian for years, so I've seen a lot of vegan propaganda by default."
And the 'Say You Won't Let Go' hitmaker recently admitted his decision to go vegan came after he realised he wasn't taking care of his body, and he now values staying hydrated with water over enjoying a beer.
He said: "It's all about the vegan lifestyle. Not eating the animal products it's helping me lose the belly. There was a point where I just wasn't looking after myself and I decided I just had to. I eat pretty good now and I'm like you know keeping hydrated more.
"It used to be a complete afterthought to me, so now it's like top of the list, drink water and keep yourself hydrated. Water before the beer."
James' comments come several months after he admitted his return to the music scene had resulted in his waistline expanding, especially when he was living off junk food whilst touring the US.
At the start of 2017, the 'Say You Won't Let Go' hitmaker - who was dropped from Simon Cowell's Syco label in 2013, before re-signing to the label in late 2016 - said: "I've put on, like 30 pounds, since I've been in America. I tried everything, I love Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out Burger, With Chick-fil-A you get the best of Burger King and the best of KFC in one bite."
