Jake Gyllenhaal bursts into tears on planes.
Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed he often bursts into tears when he is on a flight, particularly if he is watching a movie.
Gyllenhaal 33, has owned up to the fact he regularly weeps when he is on a flight especially if he is watching an emotional movie, and blames his emotional in flight state on there being a lack of oxygen.
He said: "I get emotional on planes. Doesn't everyone get emotional on planes? There's not that much air? Like not a lot of oxygen, you need oxygen to breathe.
"I feel like there's been a study that has been done about it.
"You watch the movies and like movies I would never cry at on land, I weep at in the air."
The actor revealed his latest teary trip was when he was watching live-action movie 'Bears', in which John C. Reilly narrates the story of a family of grizzly bears who journey through Alaska in the winter, and the Hollywood star found it "really moving".
Gyllenhaal also said to Conan O'Brien on his chat show 'Conan', "This time it was that movie 'Bears', I was watching that movie bears.
"It was really moving, it's really moving. Look you guys seriously, it's really moving.
"OK, it's a movie about ... it's a live action movie about bears. It's about Sasha, I think her name is, and her two bear cubs and their journey through Alaska from winter into spring
"It's a tough journey. It's just an emotional journey through the wilderness!"
