The 'Nightcrawler' star has joked he always lets his mother Naomi have her say on the woman he dates.
Speaking on tonight's (27.04.15) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he said: "Well one thing I always do, is I always bring my dates to my mother's house for the first date. I think that's a good move ...
"My mother, she thinks arranged marriages might be able to work. You know what I mean, like in a good way. She thinks that if she picked for me, that I'd do a lot better."
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old actor is rumoured to be romancing 'Southpaw' co-star Rachel McAdams but the pair are reportedly taking their relationship slowly.
A source said: "They started dating recently. They've always had a strong connection but the timing was never right.
"Now that [her previous relationship to music manager Patrick Sambrook is] over, Rachel would like to see where things go with Jake. They're taking it slow - but Jake is enamoured by her! He cares a lot about her."
Earlier this month, the pair were seen enjoying dinner together at Odys & Penelopes in Los Angeles.
