Jaime King is looking forward to "harmonious co-parenting" of her sons with estranged husband Kyle Newman.
Earlier this week, the 44-year-old filmmaker filed legal documents requesting primary physical custody of the two sons he has with the 'Hart of Dixie' star - James, seven, and Leo, five - as he claimed that the actress has "largely been an absent parent in the minor children’s lives, either away at work in Canada or otherwise choosing to be away from them for weeks and months at a time during the Covid-19 pandemic”, but her representative has rubbished his claims.
And the spokesperson revealed the boys are currently in the 41-year-old actress' care as their father is away working, but Jaime is keen for them to set aside their differences and get along for the sake of the kids.
Her representative told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Once again, Kyle’s lawyers have filed selectively redacted documents which perpetuate a false narrative about Jaime. Jaime’s utmost priority has been the well-being of her children and she will continue to pursue this privately for their sake.
"She wishes Kyle only the best on set in Ontario where he is currently filming as well as successful sales of his newly released 'Dungeons and Dragons' cookbook.
"She looks forward to harmonious co-parenting of the boys when everyone is back home in Los Angeles. Jaime currently has the children with her while she is filming a movie in Puerto Rico after wrapping the second season of her television series."
In his filing, Kyle asked the court to allocate Jaime "monitored supervised visits with the children" as well as "alcohol testing when the [children] are in her custody, and claimed his estranged wife not only failed an alcohol stipulation test in June, but then missed the next five scheduled retests that day.
While he claimed he was "concerned" for the boys' wellbeing when they're with Jaime due to her alleged "dangerous and erratic behavior while under the influence of alcohol", she has hit back in her own response.
Jamie accused Kyle of interfering with her ability to FaceTime her brood and claimed he was trying to sabotage her career.
She wrote in court documents: “In February of 2020, [Kyle] attempted to wreak havoc with my professional life. [He] called at least one of the executives on Black Summer after midnight demanding information about me.
“[He] had a third party call various people who worked on the show demanding that some action be taken before I ‘killed myself’ with drugs or alcohol. No one on set believed that I had an issue, because I did not (and do not.) In fact, I was on set on time every day, and always professional.”
She also expressed her concern for the impact the on-going drama has had on her kids.
She wrote: "The boys have experienced a great deal of trauma in the last seven months.”
