The 23-year-old 'Euphoria' actor is currently in a relationship with model Kaia Gerber, 19, but admitted public interest in his romantic life makes it difficult.
He explained to Vanity Fair: "You want it to be genuine and real and have all the feelings of what you read in 1920s literature, but when people are watching and talking about it, it makes it a little bit difficult."
He also gushed about his 'Euphoria' co-star and ex-girlfriend Zendaya over her recent Emmys win.
Jacob said: "She’s a power unto herself and so talented, such a sweetheart."
Meanwhile, Jacob recently starred with real-life couple Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck in 'Deep Water' and said he was in awe of the pair.
He told E! Online: "Probably the best experience of recent was making 'Deep Water', and to kind of step back and watch these like titans of film make a movie.
"I could just sort of linger around and play a small role and you know, be involved in a movie that I would really watch and enjoy.
"They are such wonderful performers and they've really earned their stripes.
"We'd sit and jive a little bit, but I mean probably just watching what they do and seeing how they do it is a lesson in itself."
