Iggy Pop is mourning the loss of the "light of his life".

The 'Lust for Life' hitmaker has been left devastated by the death of his friend David Bowie - who lost a secret battle with cancer yesterday (10.01.16) at the age of 69 - and admitted he had never met anyone so "brilliant".
He tweeted: "David's friendship was the light of my life. I never met such a brilliant person. He was the best there is."
Bowie and Iggy toured together in 1976, before sharing a home in Berlin in 1977, where the 'Aladdin Sane' hitmaker helped his pal write his first two post-Stooges solo albums, 'The Idiot' and 'Lust For Life'.
Iggy's live shows at that time saw his friend join him on keyboard, while he provided backing vocals on Bowie's seminal 'Low' LP.
Meanwhile, other tributes continue to flood in from the world of music.
Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp tweeted: "It feels as if the world has suddenly gone out of joint. #DavidBowie"
His message was then retweeted by Boy George, who added: "Such a sad day!"
Alongside a broken heart emoji, Cher posted: "DEVASTATED... A LEGEND IS GONE (sic)"
